In history, Ayazma springs were blessed for their healing and beneficial properties. The Küçükçekmece district of Istanbul was gradually built around these springs. Contrary to its original name, these healing spring waters have become toxic as a result of urban development.
It symbolises the general chaos that the city of Istanbul has fallen into in a few years, with irreversible changes in terms of its history, environment and resources. This photo exhibition aims to bring you back to the atmosphere of this neighbourhood and to better understand some of the problems that arise locally as well as in other parts of the city.
